An emergent appeal is an appeal to the Appellate Division or the Supreme Court of New Jersey that, due to exigent circumstances, cannot await the ordinary appellate route. Emergent appeals are those that would be moot by the time the court decided an appeal as of right or an interlocutory appeal.
For insight on what the court considers an emergent appeal, click on the "Emergent Appeal" tab in the upper right
You can find out which Appellate Division judges are currently assigned to emergent duty for your County by clicking on the "Emergent Appeals, Judges" tab in the upper right corner of this page.
