Jeffrey Mandel heads the Law Offices of Jeffrey S Mandel LLC. Jeff Mandel is a former recipient of the Lawyer of the Year Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association, YLD, and was previously named one of New Jersey’s Top 40 Lawyers Under the Age of 40.  He has appeared as a legal commentator for TruTV (formerly Court TV), Fox News Channel, and CNN.

Jeffrey Mandel is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. Only approximately 3% of all lawyers in the State of New Jersey receive the honor of being certified as a trial lawyer. The certification process required Jeff Mandel to have demonstrated a substantial level of experience in civil trial law, been favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with his work, and further required Jeff Mandel to pass a written examination in civil trial law.

The New Jersey Law Journal in 2015 honored Mr. Mandel for having obtained one of the highest verdict awards in the State of New Jersey. The State Bar has recognized Jeffrey Mandel as a lawyer who has "stood out in the areas of professional knowledge, skill, integrity, and courtesy."

Jeffrey Mandel has been listed for the past eight years as an Appellate Super Lawyer and has also been listed as a National Corporate Counsel Super Lawyer. Thomson Reuters issues the list of Super Lawyers (see www.superlawyers.com/about/selection_process.html for the selection methodology). While Mr. Mandel is listed as a Super Lawyer, no aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and awards do not win cases.

Mr. Mandel has taught Appellate Advocacy at Seton Hall Law School and he has taught appeals at Rutgers Law School-Newark for over a decade.  He is the author of New Jersey Appellate Practice (Gann Law Books), a 900+ page treatise on appellate practice and procedure used by lawyers throughout the State.  Mr. Mandel is the former chairperson of the State Bar Appellate Practice Committee, a Trustee of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, and he served as an editor for the New Jersey Appellate Practice Handbook (ICLE, 7th ed.).  He has argued numerous cases before the Appellate Division and the Supreme Court of New Jersey.  The Supreme Court of New Jersey appointed Mr. Mandel to the ad hoc Committee on Law Firm Trade Names, the Court also appointed him to the Committee on the Rules of Evidence, and he is an appointed member on the Supreme Court Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law.

Mr. Mandel attended Indiana University-Bloomington and Seton Hall Law School.  He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Donald G. Collester, Jr., in the Appellate Division, and he worked for appellate judges Charles E. Villanueva and William A. Dreier.  Prior to joining Cutolo Mandel LLC, Mr. Mandel worked as an associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, as counsel at Day Pitney LLP, and as a partner at a Morristown law firm.
